Fludrocortisone

Is a synthetic corticosteroid with moderate glucocorticoid potency and a much greater mineralocorticoid potency.

Glucocorticoid

A group of steroid hormones, produced by the adrenal cortex, that are involved in metabolism and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Hydrocortisone

 A steroid hormone, produced by the adrenal cortex, that regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates and maintains blood pressure.

Hyperpigmentation

Is associated with darkening of an area of the skin or nails due to rising levels of melanin.

Mineralocorticoid

Are a group of steroid hormones classified by their similarity to aldosterone and their control over salt and water balance.

Prednisoline

 A synthetic glucocorticoid steroid used as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive.

Synacthen

 A synthetic but similar form of the naturally occurring adrenocorticotrophic hormone.

 Any hormone affecting the development and growth of sex organs.
